On Saturday, October 5th, Nikkei Place Foundation Sakura Gala celebrates Kizuna - meaning the bonds or connections between people - the intricate web of connections that brings hearts together, bridges generations, and fosters a sense of belonging. 

The Sakura Gala is the signature fundraising event for the Nikkei Place Foundation. Your support for Nikkei Place Foundation ensures the sustainability of our operations and our work to raise funds for Nikkei National Museum & Cultural Centre and Nikkei Seniors Health Care & Housing Society.

An Evening of Legacy, Recognition & Celebration in Support of Future Generations of Nikkei.

Thomas Shoyama Lifetime Achievement Award:

We are proud to honour Ruth Midori Coles (nee Nakatani), founding Director and past President of the Nikkei Seniors Health Care & Housing Society

Along with lead benefactors who contributed to our shared endeavour of community building.

Nikkei Community & Business Excellence Lifetime Achievement Award:

We are proud to honour Dan Nomura, former CEO of Canfisco and key figure in the Nikkei community

Dan is currently active in advising and fundraising for community projects, mentoring young entrepreneurs and serving on various boards.
