Where can I designate my donation to?

Donations can be designated to support one of the three Nikkei Place charities:

• Nikkei Place Foundation
• Nikkei Seniors Health Care and Housing Society
• Nikkei National Museum & Cultural Centre

You can also designate your donation to specific funds, special projects currently running, or to "where it's needed most".

Donations designated to "where it's needed most" will be split up and assigned at the end of the year by our Board of Directors to the three Nikkei Place charities above.

What is the Nikkei Place Endowment Fund?

The Nikkei Place Endowment Fund is a specific fund that will ensure the vibrant programs, services, events and operational costs of Nikkei Place are always met.

If we can reach our goal of $10,000,000, the annual interest generated could enable us to connect and enrich the lives of our vast community — from children and families to seniors alike — for generations to come.

How much of my online donation goes to the charity?

CanadaHelps assesses a 3.9% transaction fee on donations before Electronic Fund Transfer (EFT) disbursements are made.

What is the difference between "Nikkei Place" and "Nikkei Centre"?

"Nikkei Place" refers to our entire campus, which includes all three Nikkei Place organizations — Nikkei Place Foundation, Nikkei Seniors Health Care and Housing Society, and Nikkei National Museum & Cultural Centre.

"Nikkei Centre" refers specifically to the Nikkei Cultural Centre building, which houses the Nikkei Place Foundation office and the Nikkei National Museum.
