Thomas Shoyama Lifetime Achievement Award

This award is named after Thomas Shoyama — one of Canada’s most respected civil servants, who helped create the universal health care system as a deputy minister for Tommy Douglas.

This award is presented to an individual who has played a foundational role in their life as a leader in Canada and in the Japanese and Japanese Canadian community.

Nikkei Community & Business Excellence Lifetime Achievement Award

The purpose of the Nikkei Community & Business Excellence Lifetime Achievement Award is to recognize and honour Nikkei business leaders who have built distinguished careers, elevated their fields or contributed to the community, region, or nation.

Nikkei Youth Athletics Bursary

The Nikkei Youth Athletics Bursary is a $1,000 bursary that recognizes the achievements of Canadian Nikkei youth student-athletes who foster excellence in sports, academics and community leadership.

It aims to support and encourage youth engagement in their community and the building of healthy communities through athletics.
